Gerardo Calderón Huerta is a Mexican social entrepreneur and tech enthusiast. He studies at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and is the founder of Ghyperion. In 2019 he founded Young Trees, a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental sustainability and community engagement, directly impacting over 800 individuals across five states in Mexico and ensuring access to clean water for over 200,000 people. In 2024, he decided to fully dedicate himself to Ghyperion, a venture focused on harnessing cutting-edge technology for sustainable solutions.

He is the only Mexican male to win the Global Youth Action Fund 2023 from the United Nations and the International Baccalaureate, a prestigious award recognizing high-impact projects for incubation internationally. He also won the Xignux Challenge in the Launch category and secured the top prize in sustainable innovation at Tec de Monterrey. His project was recognized as the Best Japan-PLEI Venture in Winter 2024, leading to an invitation to speak at Nagoya University.

Gerardo was named Entrepreneur of the Year 2023-2024 by the Monterrey Institute of Technology. His mission is to continue developing technology that promote sustainable development and create positive change in the world.
